What types of family photos will you see in your gallery?

There are hundreds, if not, thousands of family photographer in the Greater Vancouver area. How do you choose a photographer? My suggestion is to browse their work, and if you can see your own family in those images, then they may be the right photographer for you!

If you are looking for cheesing, perfectly posing, smiling at the camera photos, then I am not that photographer for you. I am a lifestyle photographer who will give you prompts to help you interact with your children in a natural way. Our sessions will consist of games, tickles, jokes, and running around! The keyword is FUN. If you’re having fun, then your images will reflect that.

Here are 6 types of images you can expect to see in your gallery.

Warm cuddly family photos

Cuddles, snuggles, kisses. Connection is the key to these images. We’ll do sandwich hugs, we’ll get all close and plant kisses! These are natural interactions that your family is so familiar with, so show me how your family likes to cuddle.

Fun and active family photos!

Each family is unique and fun could mean and look a bit different. Some families love to get active and run around with their kids, others prefer a mellow vibe. You’ll get images of your kids enjoying themselves throwing rocks, doing silly dances, or playing a game of tag.

Kids and their siblings!

Some kids love to show affection to their siblings! Some love to play silly games together. These are the images that showcase your children’s personalities the best. We can capture their special connections when we allow them time to play.

Parent and child images

These moments are so tender. Kids interact differently with each parent. I love seeing all aspects of your family connection. I hug my children differently and we have our own special snuggles. It’s truly a privilege and honour to show you the beauty that is your family.

Dance, twirl, swing!

It doesn’t matter if you can’t dance! The expectation is to loosen up and have a good time. I love it when parents start dancing and the kids can’t wait to join in. If you are strong enough, we’ll swing the kids up! these always lead to a super excited happy child.

Photos of mom and dad together

These are my favourite images from a family photo session. Mom and dad rarely have photos together, so we’ll try our best to get a few in! We all need a little romance in our lives. I hope these are the images that families print because kids love seeing their parents in photos too!

Bonus family photos: Your family simply being together

I typically get these images when your family is walking away from me, or standing far from a distance. You are not prompted, you are not posing, you are simply in that moment, present. There’s something really special about these images and I always try to find an opportunity to capture your family in the wild.

These are all types of family photos for you to treasure. Not every photo needs to be looking + smiling images. I love to capture images that feel like a memory, images that evoke a feeling, and images that simply make you go awww.
