Beautiful photo location for your next family photo session!

Need photo location ideas? You’ve booked an outdoor session, now what? Let’s pick a location! Here are a few things to consider when choosing a location.

Proximity to your home!

Most families pick a location that’s within 20 minute drive, so it’s not too much of a trek for little ones. If your kids don’t mind the car ride, then you have more options to choose from.

Beach, field, or both?

My favourite locations have some sort of water and field. This gives us more variety and different spaces for the kids to explore. If you pick a beach location, be prepare for windy weather and sandy shoes!

Safety first!

I don’t suggest any locations with cliffs, steep hills, or possible wildlife. Safety of your kids is my first and foremost priority. Also bonus for easy parking locations!

Vancouver – Kitsilano Beach

One of my favourite spots for families that live in Vancouver. We live on a beautiful coast, why not take advantage of our beaches! Certain parts of Kits beach is less crowded, which is what I look for when we have a photo session.

Burnaby – Barnet Marine Park

A beautiful inlet and dog friendly park! Magical mountain backdrop and a large field for kids to run around!

Burnaby – Deer Lake

A stunning lake nestled in the middle of Burnaby. Lots of greenery and open sky.

Surrey – Blackie Spit Park

Field, dried grass, beach, and a hill! This park has got it all. If you want a super diverse backdrop, this Surrey gem is my favourite.

Surrey – Green Timbers Park

An oasis in the heart of North Surrey. Massive fields, lake, and beautiful rows of trees!

Surrey – White Rock Beach

Beautiful beach and so much sandy fun moments for the whole family. A little bit away from all the hustle and bustle of White Rock Pier.

Langley – Campbell Valley Park

One of the most popular locations in Langley. This park looks different every season! Expect greenery in spring. Blooming flowers in early summer. Golden yellow hues for late summer and fall!

Richmond – Garry Point Park

I love this park for its vast fields! It looks surreal in the summer, golden fields that look like the desert.

Pitt Meadows – Pitt Lake

This location is always busy with photographers! Stunning mountains and misty clouds. If you want a picturesque backdrop, this is the one!
