Burnaby family photo sessions are one of my favourites! One of my favourite locations to shoot at is Burnaby! We get beautiful mountain views against some inlet water backdrop. Our province has so many beautiful locations, some are nested right in the centre of busy cities.

If you are thinking about outdoor family photos and aren’t sure about locations, here are some things to consider.

Is the location close by?

We don’t want to travel too far from our home, or get stuck in unpredictable traffic. So I always suggest a location that is within 30 minutes of your home. There are plenty of lakes, parks, beaches, and fields that we can discuss and explore. If you have a heart set on a location that’s a bit further away, try to leave plenty of time in case of traffic jams!

Choose a spot for its diversity!

I often will suggest a beach that has plenty of field and trees. This way our photos will not only feature the beach, but also get a variety of fields, trees, and other natural surroundings. Plus the kids love to explore different sceneries.

Safety is key

There are some stunning locations in B.C. but not all are safe for toddlers to run around. I always recommend locations where kids can roam safely that have easy access via car. Most of the locations we go to have a public parking area, and can be reached within 5 minutes of walking!
