Thinking about family photos during spring? Is wardrobe really important?
Families often ask for wardrobe inspiration, I think it is important to wear what you feel comfortable in, but also something that will not distract from your family photos.
Clothing to avoid? Bright neon colours, large logos, bold prints/patterns. These types of items can often clash and be distracting.
Why should we plan our outfits? You have invested your time and money for a session, and spending a little extra effort to plan the outfits will complement the experience.
Matchy match? I always suggest outfits that compliment instead of matching. This way we can get a beautiful variety of texture, colour, shades, patterns.
Colour palette ideas? If you are not confident in mixing and pairing different colours, one easy rule of thumb is picking neutral colours like white, grey, beige. Then plan everyone’s outfit around those shades. If you are feeling a little more adventurous or want to explore your closet a bit, try complimenting colours. You can also try to pick one warm colour and one cool tone, this always makes for a beautiful wardrobe palette.
A few of my personal colour combinations are: navy + mustard, maroon + navy, white + denim, pink + green, white + beige.

If you want to incorporate patterns, try small prints, floral designs that are more subtle and muted.
Another tip is to pick one outfit first, and plan everyone else’s outfit around that. If you choose a dress that has pink and green tones, then that will determine your colour palette!
