Are you thinking about newborn photos? Have had to cancel newborn photo sessions? We have all been affected by the global pandemic, COVID-19. This has caused a lot of business to seize operation. Photographers have been rescheduling and cancelling photo sessions. I have had to postpone family photo sessions as well. You may be pregnant, or just delivered a new baby in this uncertain times, but hiring a photographer at this time may not be possible.
I’ve put together a few of my favourite newborn moments to capture, so share this with someone who’s just welcomed a new family member!
Tiny baby details. Can you believe how tiny their hands are? Those tasty little toes!
Mom holding baby. Hand over the camera to dad or others around the house!
Siblings. Capture interactions with the older siblings. These are often parents’ favourite images. The most precious moments!
Dad holding baby. I love seeing the contrast of dad’s big hands on the precious newborn.
Baby on the bed. These are easy to capture, as we will naturally take a million of these with our phones!
Feeding. Whether you choose to breastfeed or bottle feed, these are great moments to look back on.
Burping. I didn’t know I had to burp babies until I had my own children!
So go ahead, pick up a camera and start documenting your family during these strange and uncertain times. These will serve as great mementos when our lives return to normal.
Don’t worry about it if you “missed” these newborn photo sessions. We can do in-home sessions at 3 months old, 6 months old, or one year old! It’s just a different stage, and every stage is worth capturing.
Annie is a lifestyle family and newborn photographer located in Surrey, B.C. She travels within the lower mainland, Greater Vancouver area for on location photo sessions!
